Computer Engineer graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM. She worked in the area of computer engineering during 11 years, at a technical level and as manager. From 1993 to 2000, she worked in socioeconomic areas and development projects. From 1997 to date, she has also worked as an English/Spanish translator of documents related to housing, social investment, country profiles, peace, risk management, education, dialogue, health, citizenship and others. From 2000 to 2003 she worked at Universidad Rafael Landívar as advisor to the Administrative Vicerector, contributing to the preparation and follow-up of administrative and academic-administratives processes of diverse nature. From 2003 to 2004 she was in charge of creating and managing Punto de Expresión, a new unit dependant directly on the Rector and in charge of managing complaints and suggestions coming from all groups of the university community; promote and monitor customer service; and promote the use of mediation to solve conflicts. She also gave support to the IDB mission aimed at research and documentation of the Housing Situation in Guatemala; and to the research project for an geographic information system to be used in the housing program in Guatemala. She was part of the Technical Secretariat of Visión Guatemala (national vision and scenario building). At present she works for the Democratic Dialogue Regional Project as facilitator and consultant on information processes.

Samara Pellecer Administrative and Financial Assistant

Samara is the Administrative-Financial Assistant of the Project. She has gained experience with the United Nations System since 1997, both in MINUGUA and UNDP. She has worked as Assistant in both agencies and as National Transition Volunteer in MINUGUA, verifying the compliance with social development issues of the Socio-economic Accord. Samara studied International Relations and Literature at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.

Sonia González Project Coordinator

Sonia studied Political Sciences at the University of Brussels. During the last six years, she has concentrated her work on boosting dialogue and concertation processes between diverse sectors of Guatemalan society, as well as in Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay. She has specialized in providing advisory in logistics for democratic dialogue processes. Before this, Sonia was a Consultant on International Cooperation within the framework of the Peace Accords, at the Planning Secretariat of the Presidence of the Republic of Guatemala. She was also Manager of Eurocentro, fostering entrepeneur cooperation between Europe and Latin America. Sonia also worked as Consultant on Productive Projects and assistant of the Executive Director of the National Peace Fund, Fonapaz. She was in charge of the Service Center for the Investor at the Entrepeneurial Chamber of Guatemala. Sonia was also a diplomat as Mission Chief and Business Manager a.i. at the Embassy of Guatemala in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburgo and European Economic Community.
